Charting the pathway to a college degree with MAP Growth has just become even easier. The College Explorer now has a refreshed user interface, performance tweaks, the latest data from the US Department of Education College Scorecard.
Not familiar with the College Explorer? It is a great tool that helps students, parents, and teachers develop pathways to higher education. This powerful tool links MAP Growth scores with national benchmarks for colleges, universities and even specific majors. Together with goal setting and parent conferences, College Explorer can help students develop a plan, consider new possibilities and put post-secondary dreams within reach. The College Explorer is available on the NWEA website.
Here are a few highlights of the new enhancements:
We’ve taken a more visual approach and simplified the presentation of college academic and financial profile data, so students, teachers and parents can easily compare schools they’re interested in. We think the updates here will help more students see that college is within their grasp.
Included with this updated release is a brand-new way to explore: College Major Explorer. The College Major Explorer tab, built into the College Explorer, supports goal setting with students by projecting MAP Growth scores alongside the national median scores for students in a wide variety of college majors. Starting as early as fifth grade, teachers, counselors, parents and students can begin to explore the road to a post-secondary degree.
