Introduction
Growth data in the Comprehensive Data File (CDF) and Combined Data File for MAP Growth.

Information
The following fields are available on the CDF for each comparison term (e.g. "Fall to Spring"):

Growth summary fields

  • Term to Term Projected Growth
  • Term to Term Observed Growth
  • Term to Term Observed Growth SE
  • Term to Term Met Projected Growth
  • Term to Term Conditional Growth Index
  • Term to Term Conditional Growth Percentile

Growth projection fields

These fields are new as of November 18, 2015. They are located towards the end of the file, and not grouped with the other growth fields.
  • Typical Term to Term Growth

Which term pairs will have data populated?

Growth summary fields
Data is populated based on the end term in the term pair. For example, if you order a CDF for the winter term, you will get growth summary data for term pairs that end in winter. In this case, that would be fall to winter, and winter to winter. Winter to spring would not be available.

Since this is showing actual growth, students must have valid growth tests in both comparison terms.

Growth projection fields
Data is populated based on the first term of the term pair. For example, if you order a CDF for the winter term, you will get growth projection data for the term pairs that start in winter. In this case, that would be winter to winter, and winter to spring growth. Fall to winter would not be available.

Since this is a projection, students only need a valid growth test for the first term, that is, the term for which you ordered the CDF.
