Question
What are the default instructional weeks used in the norms?

Answer
The NWEA MAP Growth norms show status norms tables for fall, winter, and spring testing by subject and grade, as well as growth norms tables for all available term pairs (for example, fall-to-spring). These tables assume a fixed number of weeks of instruction have occurred before each testing season. These default weeks of instruction are:
  • Fall: 4th week
  • Winter: 20th week
  • Spring: 32nd week

The MAP Growth reporting system customizes norms-related data on your reports if you have set custom instructional weeks for your district or for an individual school. See Modifying instructional weeks. This means the printed tables in the norms document may differ from what is shown on school reports, depending on the testing schedules of school(s).
