Does NWEA provide any tests or resources in Spanish or Arabic?

Yes, NWEA provides MAP Growth Spanish math tests and a Spanish Reading screening test. We also provide Spanish and Arabic language translations of some user resources in the MAP Help Center.

If you are interested in licensing the Spanish Math test, please contact your Account Manager at NWEA.

What grades are available?
Tests are available for K-2, 2-5, and 6+ grade bands.

What standards are the tests aligned to?
The Spanish math tests are available aligned to either Common Core or Texas state standards.

Are Spanish and English language math tests comparable?
Yes, Spanish math tests are on the same RIT scale as English language math tests. The NWEA norms studies apply to Spanish math tests, and scores taken in the Spanish and English language versions are comparable. If a student takes a Spanish math test and an English math test in the same test window, the test with the lower standard error will be the one reported and used for growth projections.

Which reports show Spanish math test results?
Spanish math tests show in the following reports: Student Profile, Student Progress, Student Goal Setting Worksheet, Class, Achievement Status and Growth, Class Breakdown, and Grade.

Spanish Reading screening tests:

Spanish Reading screening tests are intended for Spanish-speaking students who are learning English. It helps identify students who are at risk of having reading difficulty in their native language. Contact your Account Manager for more information about these tests.
