Introduction
Both the Grade report and the District Summary report show the mean (or average) RIT for a grade level in a subject. However, the means are not always calculated using the same set of data, so they may be different.

Information

Grade report

The Grade report uses all valid growth scores in the subject, grade, and term to calculate the mean RIT. The Grade report does not differentiate between different tests. For example, if you have some 2nd graders who take MAP Growth K-2, and some who take 2-5, all their scores will be averaged together to calculate the mean RIT on the Grade report.

For more information, see Grade report in the MAP Help Center.

District Summary report

The District Summary report uses all valid growth scores in the same subject, grade, term and test to calculate the mean RIT. Therefore, this report will display multiple mean RITs for a grade if students took multiple tests. For example, if you have some 2nd graders who take MAP Growth K-2, and some who take MAP Growth 2-5, the K-2 scores will be averaged to create a mean RIT for that grade and test, and the 2-5 scores will be separately averaged to create a mean RIT for that grade and test.

For more information, see District Summary report in the MAP Help Center.
