Symptom
When assigning the text-to-speech accommodation, a proctor receives the message that an Unexpected Error has Occurred.

Explanation
This can occur if the text-to-speech accommodation was assigned outside of an active test session.

Solution
To avoid this issue, you will need to assign this accommodation while in an active test session. Please follow the steps below if you have already created the test session and have assigned this accommodation:
  1. Select the student(s) that have been assigned the text-to-speech accommodation from the proctor console.
  2. If student is currently testing, click on Select Action and choose Suspend. If student is in the Awaiting Student status, proceed to step 3.
  3. Select the student(s) name and click on Remove Student(s) then click OK to confirm.
  4. Click on Add More Students and then re-add the student(s) to the test session.
  5. When the student(s) have been added, click on Save and Return to Testing.
  6. Select the names of the student(s) that require this accommodation and then click Assign Accommodations
  7. Select Text-to-Speech and any other desired accommodation and then click Assign.

NWEA is aware of this issue and are working to resolve it. We apologize for this inconvenience.
