NWEA MAP Growth

February partner update

Spring is looming ‘round the bend; and just as we can see the flowers and trees blossoming, we can see the growth in our students too. Your MAP® Growth™ data is the ideal way to measure that growth, and the following update (effective Monday, February 19), is designed to make that even easier and more effective for you.

Since you may be the only recipient of this email within your district, please forward this email to teachers and others who might benefit from this information.

Practice tests replacing warmup tests

This release brings the new practice tests, replacing warm-up tests. Instead of seeing the text “Take a warm-up”, you will now see “Try a practice test.” The new practice tests provide students with the type of questions (items) they’ll encounter during MAP Growth testing, with questions appropriate to the student's rostered grade. One key benefit is that you can now access practice tests through the iPad Secure Testing app.

The links to the old warm-up tests will no longer work; to access the new practice tests (after the February 19 release), go to: https://practice.mapnwea.org/ and use the log in credentials:

Username: grow
Password: grow

Additional tests and new questions will be added in the future. Please note, the practice tests are not designed to show a range of content or grade levels.

For additional information on the practice tests, please visit the support article linked here (after the February 19 release).

I have my MAP Growth data, now what?

This article on our education blog Teach. Learn. Grow., answers that question illustrating a success story of how one school combined their MAP Growth data with a supplemental instruction tool to enhance the learning experience for their students.

A new way to address reading fluency

In case you missed the news, in January, we launched MAP® Reading Fluency. This ground-breaking assessment is the first of its kind and is designed to make sure early readers are on the right track. For more information, check out this helpful webinar, visit us in the Community, or contact your account rep with specific questions.
