Secure testing for iPads and Chromebooks
In the February MAP Growth update, we improved security for districts flagged in the NWEA® system as requiring secure testing. Partners that require secure testing for MAP Growth must now use our secure testing apps when testing on iPads and Chromebooks. If you haven’t yet updated your secure testing app, this is a reminder to do so now; you can find the apps here:
For managed devices: To install the Chromebook app correctly in kiosk mode, you will need to have access to the Google admin console. Additional installation details can be found in this set-up guide.
For non-managed devices: It is possible to use individual Chromebooks as kiosks by following the steps in this set-up guide. The instructions will need to be repeated for each Chromebook that is not part of a managed group.
Please note: To turn on kiosk mode, you must have access to the administrator account on the Chromebook you would like to use for testing. Use the following ID:

Enter key functionality updated to prevent unintentional submission
When using Test Player Growth and Test Player Summative, the Enter key will no longer function as a single submit of the Next (arrow) button. When a student selects their answers and hits the Enter button, the Next button (shown as the blue arrow key) will be focused and students will have to either hit Enter again or use the space bar to actually submit their answer. This will prevent a student who is using keyboard navigation from inadvertently submitting their answers before they’re actually ready.
Spring administration of MAP Growth Spanish reading screener
If your district uses the MAP Growth Spanish reading screener, the spring test administrations are now licensed to your district for grades 2–8.
