As the end of the school year is approaching, you’ll want to know about workstation preparations that must happen prior to upcoming fall testing. Also, we’re sharing two of many exciting new features coming to MAP® Growth™ this summer.
Since you may be the only recipient of this email within your district, we encourage you to forward this email to teachers, your IT department, and others who might benefit from this information.
Preparing workstations for fall testing
As part of our efforts to improve MAP Growth over time, and to ensure you have a secure and flawless testing experience, NWEA® must occasionally stop supporting older browsers and operating systems. For the next school year, some older operating systems and browsers will no longer be usable for MAP Growth testing. Please review the operating systems at your workstations and make any necessary upgrades prior to fall testing to ensure a smooth testing experience. Operating systems that will not be permitted for MAP Growth testing starting in July 2018:
- Mac OSX 10.9
- Mac OSX 10.10
Operating systems that will no longer be supported starting in July 2018 and not permitted for MAP Growth testing starting in November 2018:

MAP Growth gets a facelift
To improve student engagement, next fall we’re updating the look and feel of MAP Growth and MAP Growth K–2 tests to deliver a more modern, app-like experience. What’s coming to the Student Profile this fall
The Comparisons module within the Student Profile is about to get an upgrade. Soon, you’ll be able to use the Student Profile to understand a student’s growth and achievement, predict performance on future tests such as the SAT®, find books that match student ability, and use student scores to have conversations about college and career readiness.
Starting this fall, you will be able to open the Comparisons module to use more tools to understand the implications of students’ RIT scores.
Are you sharing the Parent Toolkit?
To help your student’s parents better understand and benefit from the MAP Growth test, invite them to visit the Parent Toolkit for practical resources. Translated resources are available in many languages, including the parents’ Student Progress Report Quick Reference in Spanish.
