NWEA MAP Reading Fluency

Product updates coming your way

Thank you for being a part of our MAP® Reading Fluency™ early adopter program! We hope you're already experiencing substantial time savings and instructional benefits.

As we approach the end of the early adopter program, we want to share some end-of-school-year details as well as exciting program enhancements coming next year.

Early adopter program conclusion

For partners currently enrolled in the early adopter program, the MAP Reading Fluency system will be available for use until June 30, 2018. After June 30, the MAP Reading Fluency product will be unavailable until the July 2018 general release for partners enrolled for the 2018/19 school year. Partners who choose to continue with MAP Reading Fluency next school year can look for the following enhancements in the fall, as well as additional features to roll out during the 2018/19 school year based on your feedback.

iPad support coming this fall

An updated app will be available in time for fall testing that allows students to test on iPad devices.

New and improved reporting

Numerous reporting enhancements will be rolled out, including:

  • Instructional reading levels based on Lexile®
  • Progression-based reporting for phonics and phonemic awareness skills
  • Expanded reporting at the school and district level

Additional test measures coming your way

Students who take the Foundational Skills portion of the assessment will see a broader range of foundational reading skills, including blending, segmenting, decoding, and encoding.

New user roles make it easier to track progress

A District Administrator role will be added, enabling access to student results and the ability to track progress toward test completion throughout the district.

Field testing Spanish content

This fall, we’ll begin field testing Spanish-language content. As we build and validate a Spanish assessment, we are seeking field study participants. Please contact your account manager if you’re interested in learning more about the Spanish field study program.
