Where does the time go? It seems like summer just started, and yet here we are, already planning for your students’ growth come fall. Below, you’ll find some exciting new updates to MAP® Skills™ (effective July 30) to help you focus on their growth.
Create your own custom groups
With new system roles of Instructional Provider and Interventionist (see details below), teachers can now save valuable time by easily creating custom groups of students on the fly—without the need for re-rostering. Using the Custom Groups feature, Instructional Providers can create custom groups of students from across any of their classes to aggregate MAP Skills reporting data or make group-wide assignments. Custom groups can be modified at any time and will last for the entire school year. Note that only the creator of a custom group can see their custom groups.
New system roles make grouping students easier than ever
The Interventionist system role is now available to assign to users at the school level. Similar to other system roles, the Interventionist role can be assigned through the roster file. Users with this role can create custom groups of students across classes and grades within a school—or across different schools if they are an interventionist for multiple schools.
Skills Locator for reading is now adaptive
You can now find instructional reading levels for a student with just one test, saving you and your students valuable time. The new, adaptive Reading Skills Locator is available for both Informational Text and Literature, and results will populate all related strands. Please note that due to the shortened length of the adaptive Reading Skills Locator, no skill information will be reported until the student takes a Mastery Check after instruction. Reading Mastery Checks will continue to function as they have before.
