When you generate a data export (such as the Combined Data File or the Comprehensive Data File), the weeks of instruction do not match what you have set in Modify Preferences > Manage Terms.

This occurs if you select the 2011 norms for your data export, instead of the default 2015 norms. The 2011 norms study did not support custom weeks of instruction, so the data exports based on the 2011 norms will always show the default weeks of instruction for the 2011 norms, which are:
  • Fall = 4th week of academic year
  • Winter = 18th week of academic year
  • Spring = 28th week of academic year

The default weeks of instruction for the 2011 norms are different from the defaults for the 2015 norms. See What are the default instructional weeks used in the norms? for information about the 2015 norms.

To have your data customized by weeks of instruction, generate the data export using the 2015 norms instead of the 2011 norms. See How to Export Data in the MAP Help Center.
