Introduction
How does the Family Report decide what growth information to show?

Information
A growth projection compares a student's growth between 2 terms. In the Family Report, the 2nd term in the 2 term comparison, or the "ending term", will be whichever term you select when you generated the report. If you generated the Family Report from the Student Profile report and used the "most recent" term, then the ending term will be the term the student most recently tested in. The 1st term in the 2 term comparison, or the "starting" term, depends on which ending term the report is using, and which terms the student has actually tested in. If the report can't find a valid test in a starting term, it'll display a message indicating that no growth is available.

Fall

If the ending term is fall, the report will try using the following beginning terms, in order of preference:
  1. Fall term of the previous academic year (fall to fall)
  2. No growth ("Your child's growth information will show here when they have scores for an additional term.")

Winter

If the ending term is winter, the report will try using the following beginning terms, in order of preference:
  1. Fall term of the same academic year (fall to winter)
  2. Winter term of the previous academic year (winter to winter)
  3. No growth ("Your child's growth information will show here when they have scores for an additional term.")

Spring

If the ending term is spring, the report will try using the following beginning terms, in order of preference:
  1. Fall term of the same academic year (fall to spring)
  2. Winter of the same academic year (winter to spring)
  3. Spring of the previous academic year (spring to spring)
  4. No growth ("Your child's growth information will show here when they have scores for an additional term.")
