Are Spanish and English tests in the same subject comparable? Are they on the same RIT scale?

Spanish math tests are on the same RIT scale as English language math tests. The NWEA norms studies apply to Spanish math tests, and scores taken in the Spanish and English language versions are comparable. If a student takes a Spanish math test and an English math test in the same test window, the test with the lower standard error will be the one reported and used for growth projections.

The Spanish and English reading tests are not on the same RIT scale and they use different norms, so you cannot compare scores directly. Spanish reading is treated as a different subject than English; students taking both English and Spanish reading assessments will have two separate growth events.
