Can the sound be turned off for MAP Growth K-2?
Hi Teresa. Is there a problem with the audio quality of the assessment or are you wanting to turn the sound off because you believe that a student no longer needs that particular support? If this is an audio quality issue you should contact tech support for help. If this is an issue of student need I want to direct you to the Community support document: Do all MAP Growth K-2 test items have audio? In this article you will find information about why audio is included for some test items in the K-2 assessment and why the audio does not stop after a certain RIT score is achieved. In addition, I think that you may find the Criteria for Transitioning from K-2 to 2-5 Tests section in the Primary Test Selection document in the MAP Growth Help Center useful. If this is not what you were looking for please respond with additional information to clarify your question. I am tagging several of our NWEA MAP Growth experts to add their thoughts to this discussion thread. Thanks for reaching out!

I agree, I think it would be important to know why you don't want the sound where it is available. We would need to check with someone on our product team to know for sure, but I think that it would impact the reliability of your scores and whether the normative data would still apply. Items with sound were carefully constructed so that they assess what is meant to be assessed by that item, without reading level getting in the way.
