What successes have your district found with Skills Navigator? Our district is in Year 1. Anything you think we should know?
Welcome to the Community Kristina! Thanks for sharing your question. I am sure that it will be interesting to see what Skills Navigator successes other professionals across our Community have to share. Stay tuned!
We are in our second year of partial implementation in a few of our schools. The program has undergone some much needed changes over the past year that NWEA has implemented as a result of input from teachers. As a district administrator who trains schools and other districts on using the program, I think it is a great - with the potential to be an incredible - progress monitoring tool as it becomes more user friendly and less time consuming - time being the most valuable commodity in the teaching profession.
Dear John: we have done .25% of MAP testing last year and this year we are trying to reach .75% out of 1 percent of Total MAP testing per academic year. I mean we have done one window out of total 3 and this year we are targeting 2 windows out of three. Our data is not that mature as most of our students have been rushing for answers and have not been taking a successful reflection on the question statement. We are looking for curriculum and instructional adjustments after having the first set of reports after winter testing session. I am keen in learning that how Skills navigator can be a progress monitoring tool.
Imtiaz, I was about to reply to your inquiry when I saw the date of the post. Do you still have questions about utilizing MAP Skills at this point?
